Icepick + Z903:

  • aboard Command Shuttle CS-14159.3,
  • towing CS-14159.2
  • in contact with Chezzar, en route to rendez-vous point
  • Ship stated year was 6954, "by recent calendar system"

DreadWolf7 + Griffinith:

  • aboard Heavy Cruiser CA-14159 "Warlord"
  • unknown location, computer says System 1357
  • Scan detected 7 Chezzar ships, id'ed as "allied", and "two-- no, one? uncertain identification, need active scan to disambiguate" Command Shuttles.

Everyone:

  • now aboard CA-14159
  • The Great Human Diaspora took place 272 years ago. All we know about it is: something happened to some colony planets, then humans started building these weird ships, contacted their allies one last time, then all left.
    • The ships could not have physically held as many humans as were evacuated, yet two weeks later, when alien allies moved in, they found no trace of human residence on the planets taken over.
    • Terra has been maintained as a "reservation" of sorts -- to some extent, this was according to the wishes of terrans, but the system defenses have been tried in the past and have deflected attempted approaches.
  • directed to Terra coordinates
  • Dreadwolf confirmed as captain,
  • Icepick as second in command (first officer),
  • Z903 took engineering, and
  • Griffinith took Med Lab.

@Terra:

  • Taking the shuttle to Terran Command Central: Dread, Z903, Griffinith
  • On a shipyard orbiting Terra, found records of a battleship, launched 154 years prior.
  • There are also records of the "colony" ships that evacuated most humans -- specs say they should be able to reach another galaxy in 5 years (compare with 2500 years for regular known drives)
  • In stasis aboard Command Central is a human (Funnyman), who was supposed to be emergency backup personnel. He'd been in stasis for
  • We can get 5 CAs, 3 CLs and 8 FGs, and retrofit them to AIs.
  • We can also start building fighters for remote-operated vehicles.
  • We can also build tugs, with oversized warp fields designed to carry other mass into warp using their large onboard energy reserves.
  • Chezzar captain identified as Grarl.
  • Ethrel is currently in the Overlord's Mansion, and is suffering from some stress-related mental sickness.
  • He's malnourished and has some neurochemical imbalances, but is perfectly healable.
  • When convinced to come up to the ship, Overlord AI recommends bodyguard android go along -- EzTarget.
  • Chezzar Governor Tibid sends a message via Captain Grarl, inviting the new Overlord of the Terran Empire for tea and diplomatic relations.
  • We got the Chezzar to lend us some industrial backbone equipment based on the fact that they picked it up when they moved in after the Diaspora.
  • Tibid really doesn't want us exploring the "ruins" on his planet.
  • Tibid tells us Research Station in system 1357 is in a decaying orbit with its final point in approximately a month.
  • Halfway to 1357, Grarl's ship drops out of hyperspace. Personnel are going to escape pods. The ship was EMPed and the captain ordered evac before self-destructing.
  • Captain Creel rescues you from the escape pod. He's met humans before. He's also met a small needleship that broke into Chezzar space, en route to Terra, approximately 157 years ago. This would match the time of beginning of construction of the great battleship, which appears to have been the attacker of Grarl's ship.
  • With the delays, we've only got a day to explore the station. We find an odd glittery dust that responds to something (body heat?), some tech upgrades, and a promising bit of research that was abandoned due to infeasibility -- but promised to be about as good as the diaspora ship engines.
  • We order construction on a spyship, one specifically designed to approach to transporter range while remaining unseen. It will take several months, though, so it's an option for later.
  • We should ask Creel about the governor's refusal to allow us to explore the human "ruins". Hint: religious?!?

Second Session

  • Having a dinner with Creel
    • Creel explains that it is a religious thing.
  • Distress call, severely silly rather than serious at all.
    • CGN-15162, a frigate ordered to patrol the area near where it was located.
    • Crew seems to have gone slightly derpy. They were affected by a severely restricted narcotic that is not synthesizable with current knowledge, and which should not have been present.
    • We recovered the computer core into which a... interesting virus managed to lodge itself. Sadly, the virus is not the direct cause of the narcotic substance release.
    • It was fun times for Ez.

Future Ideas

  • between P and R
  • need some nameless crew members
